Sewing is more than a hobby. It’s a practical, creative skill that teaches patience, problem-solving, focus, precision, confidence, and independence.

Whether they eventually sew clothes, make bags, repair something they already own, create gifts, or simply discover a new creative outlet, the skills learned here can stay with them for a lifetime.

🧵 What Is Kids Sewing Camp?

Our four-week Kids Sewing Camp is a hands-on beginner sewing experience designed for students ages 12 and up.

Students will learn how to safely operate a sewing machine, understand basic sewing concepts, work with fabric and sewing tools, and complete beginner-friendly projects from start to finish.

The goal isn’t simply to teach them how to sew. It’s to help them become confident enough to create, problem-solve, and say, “I can figure this out.”

Throughout the four-week camp, students will explore:

• Sewing machine safety and proper operation
• How to thread and use a sewing machine
• Basic sewing terminology
• Understanding fabric, tools, and supplies
• Basic sewing techniques
• How to follow sewing instructions
• Measuring and working with fabric
• Beginner project construction
• Troubleshooting common sewing mistakes
• Proper sewing habits and techniques
• Confidence and independence at the sewing machine

Students will learn through hands-on instruction and beginner-friendly projects designed to help them build their skills week by week.

The August 30 introductory session is included as part of your full camp enrollment. There is no separate registration or additional fee required for the introductory class.
