What began in 2018 as a custom handmade bag brand has grown into something far greater than we ever imagined. Today, Nina Jo Studios is a place where creativity, craftsmanship, and community come together to help people build confidence through sewing and develop a skill they'll carry for a lifetime.
When I first learned to sew, I had no idea how much it would change my life. What started as a simple sewing class alongside my 10-year-old daughter quickly became a passion that followed me around the world. Later that year, while stationed in South Korea, I spent countless hours learning, practicing, making mistakes, and discovering the joy of creating something with my own hands.
Seeing the finished bags gave people confidence that beautiful, professional-quality work was possible. The questions naturally followed: "How did you make this?" "What machine do you use?" "Can someone like me really learn to do this?"
Those simple questions changed everything.
After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 2025 following more than two decades of service, I decided to pour my energy into helping others experience the same confidence and sense of accomplishment that sewing had given me.
Today, we offer hands-on classes, workshops, private instruction, and creative events designed to help aspiring sewists build real skills with real confidence. Whether you're threading a machine for the very first time or dreaming of making beautiful bags of your own, you'll find encouragement, practical instruction, and a community that celebrates every milestone along the way.
